We might be experiencing a heatwave right now, but that hasn’t stopped Nike from releasing the images of its latest Therma-Sphere Max lookbook. Designed for cold weather training, the pieces are equipped with thermoregulating composite technology to ensure lighter layers that enhance the athlete’s performance.
Comprised of the Nike Therma-Sphere Max Men’s Training Jacket, Nike Therma-Sphere Max Men’s Training Pant and Nike Therma-Sphere Max Women’s Training Vest, the collection is two years in the making. Barry Spiering, the Director of Applied Apparel Research for the Nike Explore Team Sport Research Lab, says, “When an athlete trains in cold temperatures without appropriate apparel, the body strives harder to maintain thermal balance, which impairs performance. The goal of our research team is to provide scientific insights to the apparel development team so they can create innovative solutions that help athlete performance, perception and protection.”
The Therma-Sphere Max collection features “a three-layer composite material specifically designed to help keep the wearer warm, comfortable and dry without weighing them down or sacrificing style,” informs Nike.com. Athletes won’t have any excuses to skip out on training with these options now available.
